MATSim Tutorial and User Meeting: Invitation and Call for Abstracts

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to have the opportunity to hold our next MATSim Tutorial and User Meeting. It will take place in Berlin during spring 2012. To facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between MATSim users and MATSim developers we would like to invite you to participate at the seminar, to be held from March 19 to March 23, 2012 at the Berlin Institue of Technology (Technische Universität Berlin). The seminar will consist of two parts: 

1. The MATSim tutorial from Monday, March 19th, to Wednesday, March 21th (3 days)

For the tutorial part we will have lectures and demonstrations in the morning given by MATSim developers from Berlin and Zurich. In the afternoon we will offer tutorials on how to use MATSim for newcomers as well as for advanced users. This will include elements such as

• installing matsim on your laptop
• configuring and running matsim
• how to extend matsim using Java
  

2. The MATSim user meeting from Thursday, March 22th, to Friday, March 23rd (1.5 days)

As last year the user meeting is an opportunity to present current projects and applications of MATSim. If
you would like to present, please submit a short abstract (max. 300 words) to us by January 31, 2012.

Location

The seminar will be held at Technische Universität Berlin, Severin-Gelände.

Registration

Participants can separately register for the tutorial part and the user meeting part. Registration fees are:

1. Tutorial
25€ for students studying for a Diploma or BSc/MSc degree
50€ for other persons with a university affiliation
200€ for others

2. User meeting:
25€ for students studying for a Diploma or BSc/MSc degree
50€ for other persons with a university affiliation
200€ for others

Since we have limited capacities, we encourage all participants to register early.

The registration fee includes morning and afternoon coffee breaks. During lunch break, everybody is encouraged to join us for lunch at a nearby cafeteria. This time, we decided to keep registration fees low and ask everybody to pay as they go.

Accommodation

Participants are kindly requested to organize their accommodation themselves. Two recommendable hotels near the venue:

Both hotels have some reserved rooms for participants of the meeting. Just say MATSim when you book.
